We were finally able to sit down for our first podcast this week. In our inaugural podcast we discussed our views about Extreme Rules, this past week's episode of RAW, and what we think about the upcoming brand split of the "new era."
PRE-SHOW UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Kalisto (c) vs. Ryback Pat: There isn't really any reason to have Kalisto drop the title to someone like Ryback, who has doesn't really have any momentum to speak of. Hopefully after this, they'll give some more thought to the US Title picture and restore some of the prestige that the belt has lost since Cena lost it to Del Rio. I can see why some would say a title change could create some more buzz around the belt, but I don't think anyone would get excited at the prospect of a Ryback title reign at this point. KALISTO RETAINS Dave: The U.S. Title has reached a new low in 2016 where the belt hasn’t even been featured on Raw consistently. After all the work that WWE did with Cena last year it seems unfortunate to have a forced match designated to the pre-show for the second straight pay per view for a championship belt. It is because of this that WWE needs to shake things up and attempt to put a little interest back in the US strap. Of course Ryback of all people is not the man for the job but at least a title change creates some interest and a little momentum for the Big Guy moving forward. RYBACK WINS Mike: Another pre-show title match for these two. To be honest I don't have much to say about this match. No reason Ryback should take the title off of Kalisto. Mysterio 2.0 retains. KALISTO RETAINS We are three lifelong pro wrestling fans, with an affinity for such topics as: Eric Bischoff's entrance music, Heidenreich's love of chocolate, and wrestling's forgotten warrior: "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. Coming soon we will have blogs, podcasts, and more with our take on the latest WWE and NXT news as well as some nostalgia for the past. For now, follow us on Twitter @HotTagWrestling for updates!
